Lysing Matrix Y tubes can be used with FastPrep instruments or similar bead beaters. The yttria-stabilized zirconium oxide beads have a high density and hardness for cracking tough cell walls, yet a smooth surface for minimizing shearing.

- Samples types: Gram (+/-) bacteria, fungal tissue and spores, yeast, molds, filamentous algae and biofilms
