Peptide Vessels
Peptide Vessels
Peptide vessels are used to produce peptides, compounds formed of multiple amino acids linked by amide bonds, that can be used to manufacture epitope-specific antibodies or design and synthesize novel peptide-mimetics. Peptide vessels are typically manufactured from borosilicate glass, which is chemically inert and more resistant to thermal shock than regular glass. Peptide vessels are available with a fritted disc of medium or coarse porosity, which supports resin in the vessel. The top of a peptide vessel typically features an open mouth for easy introduction or removal of materials, as well as a lined screw cap. An inner joint serrated hose connection can be connected to a vacuum source, while the vessel's stopcock has a sidearm to connect it to a nitrogen source.
