Controls foam in aqueous media in laboratory applications. Silicon Antifoam, Chem-Lab is a low-viscosity silica compound that breaks down and prevents the formation of foam that can reduce processing speed, prevent efficient filling of tubes and other vessels, and hinder precise measurement.

A foam’s film is stabilized by its surface elasticity and viscosity. Silicones have low surface tension and interfacial properties. Their lack of foam-stabilization properties causes foam walls to become thin and collapse.
